MENTORING WITH TY AND SARAH

MENTORING WITH TY

Are the following questions of relevance for you?

Sense of purpose
Sense of being/belonging
Anything feeling stuck in the past
Apprehension about the future
What feels like it’s missing
What feels like it’s just right
Anything you can’t forgive yourself or another for
Does your inner critic feel helpful or rigid, doubtful, shaming

The way we might work together:

I begin by helping you clarify what your values are as a way to notice if they are being lived, and if not what blocks may be present (conflicting values may be in the way), while getting to know your inner ‘committee’ members or Parts in Internal Family Systems language, and how skillful (or not) they operate internally (what messages are they conveying and why). Do the parts or committee members like or respect each other? Do they generally get along? If there are inner conflicts, we will work to get to know their motivations for their world view (their ideas for why you should be this way and not that), and in doing so come to an understanding and strategy for integrating and potentially transforming them into allies rather than competitors, saboteurs, or harsh critics.

MENTORING WITH SARAH

I am continually in awe of how healing and transforming sessions with an empathic person (well trained in inquiry) can be. Having sought support myself over the years, I delight in sharing with others in a therapeutic relationship one to one. Having trained in psychodynamic models since Graduate school, I currently interweave methods from Psychosynthesis, Buddhism, and Internal Family Systems models to create a safe setting for probing deeper into any issue related to your personal, interpersonal or spiritual life. I am available for single sessions or continuous connection, as my schedule allows. For those entering the IYI program who would like me to be their mentor, I will certainly enjoy this deepening connection with you, whenever there is space in my schedule.

ABOUT SARAH

I am the co-founder of the Insight Yoga Institute as well as the author of Insight Yoga and Lit from Within, which interweaves Yoga, Buddhism, Taoism, and Transpersonal psychology into an integrated practice to enliven the body, heart, and mind. I have been teaching for 30+ years, blending both a Yin sequence of long-held floor poses to enhance the meridian and organ systems while often engaging in inquiry practice, with a mindfully-based flow yoga practice. I am trained in both Psychosynthesis and the Internal Family Systems psychological models, and have been a student of spiritual psychology for over 35 years. I draw from my education and participation in long retreats in the Vipassana, Tantric and Dzogchen practices of Buddhism.
