How We Collect/Use Information

We may collect and store sensitive personal data or other information that you voluntarily supply to us online while using the Site – for example but not limited to the following:

• Submission of applications/questionnaires: Insight Yoga Institute, Teacher Training, Silent Retreat – to be used to make decisions about admission into these various programs,
• Feedback through our Contact page that may be posted with your permission on our Testimonials section,
• Email communication (i.e. questions submitted through our Contact page and subsequent email exchanges)

We do not use any of the above listed for marketing purposes.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We also collect and store information that is generated automatically as you navigate online through the Site or Plugins used within the Site. Only specific information is shared and only with relevant parties associated with us (i.e. our assistants, assigned Insight Yoga Institute (IYI) mentors). An example of this would be assessment of and Insight Yoga Institute application for acceptance into the teacher training program.

Please know that when you voluntarily make your personal information available for viewing by others online (i.e. through social media pages, etc.) this information can be seen and collected/used by others besides us. We cannot be responsible for any unauthorized third-party use of such information.

We do not have any third-party advertising on the Site, but we do include links that provide access to products and services sold by third-parties, whose privacy policies we do not control. When you use these links, the privacy policy of that third-party site will be the governing policy.

We use a variety of processes to protect your data and limit the information we provide to outside parties (i.e. IYI mentors) to only what they need to carry out their responsibilities.

Payment information (i.e application fees, mentoring fees and registration for silent retreats and teacher trainings) is handled by third party services and the bank or credit card information is never revealed to or stored by https://www.sarahandtypowers.com.
